It's been a while since I've been able to update my blog with new pics, so there's going to be a string of new posts following this one, check them all out! I'll start it off with a rather random pic of life in our house: I came home from work one day to Princess Isabel, King Daddy, and a crown waiting for Queen Mommy as well. Don't we look royal?

Helper Isabel
These days Isabel's favorite thing is to be a big girl and "help" mommy. "I can do it" and "I want to help" are phrases we hear often around here. I've had to get a little creative about what form that help should take. These first pics are of Isabel helping out by giving Sophia her bottle a few weeks ago. They started out in the little chair on the floor, looks a little awkward. :)
Then she decided they needed to move up to the big chair, a bit safer for both kids. Eventually Isabel gave up and Sophia took over and held the bottle herself while Isabel looked at one of Sophia's books. All in all a pretty good attempt at helping out. Also a bit of a turning point in Isabel's relationship with Sophia, she's much kinder with her lately and less annoyed when Sophia crawls on top of her or gets in her space.
This has become my favorite way to keep Isabel occupied while I make dinner. She loves washing dishes, so I can just fill a sink with soapy water and let her have fun. She gets the stuff fairly clean, and stays mostly out of my way, perfect! Also, note that she's doing housework in her sparkly ruby slippers; this seems to be Isabel's theory on life: pretty shoes work in any situation, no matter the outfit they're paired with. ;) She does love her accessories!

Boston trip
We took a trip to Boston back in June, and I still haven't posted any pics, so here they are! We had a wonderful time at the New England Aquarium, ate some amazing chowder and steamers, watched street performers, walked all around Boston, and visited my good friend Christine. It was a wonderful, exhausting trip. Isabel loved the seals out in front of the aquarium, that might have been her favorite part, besides the giant sea turtles. Those were definitely my favorite, they're huge!
This husband and wife team was doing yo-yo and hula hoop tricks and Isabel was enthralled. They put on a great show and it was the perfect way to relax after a great lunch. I had some of the best clam chowder that I'd ever had that day!
Happy Isabel enjoying the show!
This was Saturday night after a very busy day. We had gone to the Aquarium that morning, had lunch and watched the street performers, then drove north out of Boston to visit and stay with my friend Christine and her husband Mark. Christine's dog Peanut, one of her two chihuahuas, loved cuddling up with Isabel's new Nemo from the aquarium gift shop. Isabel had a blast playing with the dogs and Christine said she'd never seen them so tired out.

technical issues
The only USB port that my camera cable fits into on my computer is broken, so until we resolve that situation I am unable to download any more pics off my camera. We've been pretty busy lately, with a trip to Boston and the Aquarium, 4th of July excitement, and lots of usual fun with Rowan, so I've got a lot of pics waiting to be downloaded. When that happens I'll post another blog complete with photos. Until then, I hope everyone is keeping cool and having a fun summer!
